It's Your Birthday!

I am back again today with another bright and cheerful card, using the Birthday Chicks stamp set from MFT Stamps.

The chicks themselves are bright and fun but I wanted to make a nice and bright background for them as well. The first thing I did was cut a piece of white card stock with a die from the Blueprints 27 die-namics.  I then took the four window inserts and inked them up with four different colours of Distress Inks.  Once they were inked up, I sprayed them with some water and blotted up the excess water with paper towel.

I popped up the white frame with foam tape and glued the window inserts flat to the card front.  I added some chicks using a mixture of foam tape and wet glue.

I am so happy with how the card turned out and think anyone that received this card couldn't help but smile.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Birthday Chicks
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 27
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Abandoned Coral
Copic Markers:Y13, Y15, Y17, YR23, YR18, BG10, BG11, BG13, V12, V15, V17, RV13, RV17, RV25
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  Sakura - Black Glaze Pen,  Foam Tape

I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

My Favorite Chick - MFTWSC373

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Yesterday I coloured a whole bunch of images from the Birdie Brown - Birthday Chicks stamp set from MFT Stamps and today I turned a few of those images into a card.

I used the current sketch from MFT Card Challenges as my inspiration for my card layout.

I added a couple of half inch strips of Plaid Patterns 6x6 paper from MFT Stamps on either side of the card front.  I then cut a 3 1/4" by 5 1/2" piece of white card stock for my main front panel and cut out a circle from that panel with a stitched circle die.  The pale was then popped up onto the centre of the card front with foam tape.

The die cut circle was coloured using Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks which I blended onto the circle and then sprayed and blotted off some water.  The circle was then inserted to the panel from whence it came and glued flat to the front of the card.

The cute little chicks and the sentiment banner were added using a mixture of wet glue and foam tape.

I love the bright fun colours!

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Thanks - CTD480

I am back again today with another card, no colouring this time, just lots of stamping and die cutting.

The card today was created for the colour challenge at the Color Throwdown. The colour scheme this week is Lilac, Green, Grey and White,  which I though would be perfect for a bouquet of flowers.

I decided to you the Beautiful Blooms stamp and die set from MFT Stamps, which is retired but new to me.  I also looked at my ink pads and went with a combination of Memento Inks and Hero Arts' shadow inks.

Kelly Latevola was the inspiration to try a different way of photographing my cards. (If you click on her name, it will take you to her blog post.) This was the first time and I hoping to improve with time.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Beautiful Blooms
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beautiful Blooms and Blueprints 13
Inks: Hero Arts - Lime Green,  Memento - Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum and Grape Jelly,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Other: Recollections - 110lb White and Grey card stocks and 65lb Purple card stock,  Foam Tape

Take care and have a wonderful day!

Next To You - MFTWSC372

Hello my friends and welcome back.  It seems like it's been forever since I posted a card.  For the past few weeks I have had tendonitis, which is making it challenging to do any colouring.

The card I did manage to make was for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

The first thing I did was to mask off a section of the card base with painter's tape and then used a couple of Distress Oxide inks to create a background.  I also sprayed the inked with a bit of water and blotted up the excess with a paper towel in order to add some added interest to the background.

I also stamped, cut and coloured a couple of the cute raccoons from the Raving Raccoons stamp set from MFT Stamps, which I popped up on the card base with some foam tape.

I cut a piece of card stock with one of the Slanted Sentiment Strip dies, stamped the sentiment and added it below the raccoons.

A truly clean and simple card.

Below is a list of the products I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Raving Raccoons
Dies: MFT Stamps - Slanted Sentiment Strips
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Distress Oxide - Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers:  W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, R00, R81, R83, R85, BG11, BG13
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock and 65lb Teal card stock,  Sakura - Black Glaze Pen,  Foam Tape

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy
