Stay Cool - MFTWSC252

Hello and happy Friday! Tomorrow is Halloween and unfortunately we are expecting rain but for the little kids sake I hope the rain can stay away for a few hours.

I finally have decided to leave the Halloween cards behind, although they are so much fun, and make a card using some of the new goodies I bought from MFT Stamps.

For this card I used the current sketch from MFT Card Challenges and the awesome Stay Cool stamp set and Cool Cup Die-namics. When I saw this stamp/die combination I knew it must be mine because I have a Mocha Frappuccino Light from Starbucks almost every day and thought it was just perfect.

Here is a picture of the sketch.

I cut the cup base out of white card stock and coloured it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink to look like coffee. I also used the Vintage Photo Distress Ink mixed with water to flick onto the background to add some interest.

Here are a couple of pictures of the card I made.

Below is a list of the supplies I used to make my card.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Stay Cool
Dies: MFT Stamps - Cool Cup, Coffee Cup and Blueprints 13
Ink: Distress Ink - Vintage Photo,  Hero Arts - Cup O'Joe
Other: Recollections - Card Stock,  Copic Marker -W1, Hampton Art - Neutral Glitter Dots, Transparency from my stash, Foam Tape

Thanks so much for dropping by and have a great night and a happy and safe Halloween! Kathy

Pumpkin Trio - Curtain Call - October 15

Hello, I hope your have a good week so far. It's a little dull and rainy here today so a perfect day to stay inside and craft.

I decided I wanted to make a card using the Curtain Call Challenge as my inspiration.

Although my card looks simple, it uses lots of products.

I used the oval dies, which I edged with distress ink, to make the pumpkins and stamped on two of them with unicorn ink to make patterns. I freehand cut some stems and used the leafy florish die for the vines.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Pinstripes Background,  Simon Says Stamp - Sweater Words
Dies: Spellbinders - Classic Ovals Small & Large,  MFT Stamps - Leafy Florish
Ink: Distress Ink - Vintage Photo,  Hero Arts - Unicorn Pigment Ink
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug - Charles
Other: Recollections - Card Stock and Sequins,   Doodlebug - Primary Twine,  Foam Tape

Have a great day! Kathy

Altered Witch Hat

Hello and Happy Monday!  After piddling around last year, I finally got my act together and altered a paper-mache witch hat that I bought at Michaels.

The first thing I did was paint the hat with acrylic black paint and then I sprayed it with Lindy Stamp Gang's - Screamin' Banshee Black-Starburst Spray.  I also sprayed the black flower I bought with the same Starburst Spray.  I then took 6 inch wide black tulle, folded it in half and then glued it to the hat, pleating it a bit as I went along.

I then added ribbon, feathers, a few Halloween sprays and the sprayed flower that all came from Michaels as well.

I pretty happy with how it turned out and plan to use this on my mantle as part of my Halloween decor.

Here are a few pictures of the hat from start to finish.

Have A Cool Day - SSSC290

Hello and to people in Canada, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have been able to spend some time with your family, this long weekend.

Yesterday I combined to images from MFT Stamps' - Cool Day stamp set, coloured them with Copics and fussy cut them out.

Today I have taken that combined image and made a card using the current sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Since the sketch looked square, I decided to make a 5 1/2 inch square card, which is a change from my usual A2 sized card.

This is the current sketch.

Happy Halloween

Hello, I hope your all having a good day today. It's cleared up weather wise today, which just makes everything just a little bit better.

I wanted to colour something for Day 8 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge and remembered that I had an awesome Simon Says Stamp Halloween stamp set and dies called Trick or Treat.

I masked off the kitty, once it was stamped, in order to place the puppy slightly behind it and then coloured the images with Copic markers.  The real challenge on this card, was layering the delicate die cut "Halloween" three times to give it a bit more weight on the card.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used for my card.

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp - Trick or Treat
Dies: Simon Says Stamp - Halloween
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black
