Easter Banner

Hello my friends and welcome back to another week.  Today I decided to make an Easter banner to hang from my mantle.

I created my banner using the Nested Lacey Pennants die from Spellbindershas the base, which I cut from two different colours of card stock.  The next layer I measured and cut using my paper trimmer, which I cut from the Carta Bella "Spring" 6x6 design paper.  The circeles and letters were cut from two different colours of card stock with the Stitched Circle Stax and High-Rise Alpha Upp[ercase die-namics from MFT Stamps.  I stacked and glued three of each letter to give them a bit more dimension.

To complete the banner, I strung each pennant onto some pink polka dot ribbon from American Crafts, through the loops on the pennants.

Below are close up pictures so you can see the design paper better.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Dies: Spellbinders - Nested Lacey Pennants,  MFT Stamps - Stitched Circle Stax and High-Rise Alpha Uppercase
Other: Recollections - 65lb Pink and Blue card stock,  Carta Bella - Spring 6x6 design paper,  American Crafts - Pink Polka Dot Premium Ribbon

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

A Big Cup Of Thank You

Hello my friends and welcome back to another weekend and another card.  I decided to make another card for the Spring 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

The first thing I did was cut a tea cup from white card stock using the Tea Part die-namics from MFT Stamps.  I decided to decorate the cup with the Fresh Cut Florals stamp set from Wplus9 and Hero Arts shadow inks.  I coloured the base and handle of the cup with a couple of Copic markers to match the flowers.

I filled the tea cup with flowers for the Fresh Cut Florals and Freehand Florals stamp set from Wplus9.

The pink card panel was cute using the largest die from MFT Stamps' Blueprints 27 die-namics and the white panel was cut using the Simon Says Stamp's Stitched Rectangles dies.

The sentiment is from the Cup of Tea stamp set from MFT Stamps and stamped in Bubble Gum ink from Hero Arts to go with the cup and flowers.

I popped up the tea cup bouquet with foam tape and the last finishing touch was to sprinkle around some Pink Lemonade sequins from Neat and Tangled.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Hello my friends and Happy Friday!  I hope your work day goes quick and you can start enjoying your weekend.

Today, I made a card using the Freehand Florals stamp set and matching dies from Wplus9 and lots of different coloured inks.

This card is for a girl that works at my local Starbucks and who just got a great new job with the government,  I thought I would make her a congratulations card and give it to her on her Sunday, which is her last day.

This particular card was inspired by the one Dawn Woleslage, the owner of Wplus9 made in a video introducing the Freehand Florals stamp set.

Here is the card I made.

Nuts For You

We are half way through another week and it's finally Spring.  Now if only the weather would warm up, so that we can spend some time outside.

Yesterday I coloured up with awesome image from the Neat and Tangled - My Favorite Nut stamp set, using Copic markers and adding a bit of detail with Prismacolor pencils.

Today I made that image into a clean and simple card.  Even though it hurt a lit, I finally cut into the Perfectly Plaid Fall 6x6 paper pad from Lawn Fawn.  I thought the colours would work perfectly with the acorn and squirrels.

I cut two pieces of card stock with edge dies from MFT Stamps and popped up the panel on the card front with foam tape to add some dimension to the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Neat and Tangled - My Favorite Nut
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Gardening Bunnies

I'm back again with another card using the My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.  This time I thought the bunnies should be doing some gardening.

The background for this scene was done with card stock and dies only.  I used the ground and fence dies that came it the kit along with a couple of dies from Lawn Fawn and MFT Stamps.

Here is a couple of pictures of the finished card.  I'm not quite sure if I will cut off the handle of the shovel that sticks over the edge of the card, or whether I will just put it into a bigger envelope.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - My Monthly Hero kit - March 2017

Your Garden

Hello my friends and welcome back.  I am having so much fun colouring the images from the My Monthly Hero kit this month, I made another card and I'm sure there will be a few more coming up soon.

I extended the die cut using the ground die that came in the kit, so that it would cover the card length horizontally.  This time I cut it out of 110lb regular white card stock and inked it up using Gathered Twigs distress ink.  The green hillside was cut from the same card stock using the Stitched Hillside Border dies from Lawn fawn and then inked up with Mowed Lawn distress ink.  Both the ground and hillside were then sprayed with water and then blotted with paper towel to add some texture.

I cut the cloud sky out of the white card stock using the Puffy Cloud Borders from Lawn Fawn, with the edges inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

You're Somebunny Special

Hello my friends, I hope you are enjoying your day so far.

A few days ago, I received my order from Hero Arts of the March 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit.  It was such a great kit this month with lots of stamps and dies.

Yesterday I cut and coloured a bunch of images from the kit and I used some of them on the card I made today.

Include in the kit was a very cool die that cuts ground with little slits so that you can tuck in the vegetables.  I used the die to cut a piece of watercolor paper and inked it up with Gathered Twigs and Hickory Smoke distress inks.  Then to give it a bit more texture, I sprayed it with some water and blotted it with a paper towel.  The cloudy sky was created by using templates made with card stock cut using Lawn Fawn's Puffy Clouds Borders and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - My Monthly Hero kit - March 2017

Over The Moon - MFTWSC324

Hello my friends and happy Friday!  The end of another week and finally a hint of Spring is in the air and garden.

Yesterday I made a galaxy background and a moon using distress inks.  To make the galaxy background, I took a panel of 110lb white card stock and blended Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress ink.  The then sprayed it with water, using a distress sprayer, and blotted up the water.  The finishing touch was to splatter the background with Marshmallow glimmer mist from Tattered Angels.

I tried a couple of time to make the moon using the same white card stock but they were failures.  In the end I cut a circle from 140lb watercolor paper and using water and a brush, I painted it with Squeezed Lemonade and Iced Spruce distress inks.  I was much happier with how it turned out.

Today I used those two items to make another card for the sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

I used one of the astronauts and a planet image from the Space Explorer stamp set from MFT Stamps to make my card and I'm so happy with how it turned out.  I hope you like it too.

The cute fairies and fairy house are from the Fairy Friends stamp set and matching dies, also from Lawn Fawn.

I inked up the cloudy sky by using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a mask that I made using the Puffy Cloud Borders dies.

Mission Control

Hello my friends and welcome back.  I hope you are having a good day so far.

On Monday I received my latest order from MFT Stamps and the next day started colouring up a bunch of images from the Space Explorer stamp set.

The images is this set are so adorable, I had so much fun colouring them.

After I coloured the astronauts, I made two Galaxy backgrounds with distress inks, in order to make a couple of cards. To make the galaxy background, I first blended several different colours of distress inks onto the card stock.  I then used a distress sprayer to spray some water, left it for a minute and blotted up the excess water.  Then I sprinkled the panels with some Marshmallow glimmer mist from Tattered Angels, mixed some white acrylic paint with water and flicked some dots of that on the panels too.  In person the galaxies are much darker then they photographed.

I cut both galaxy panels using the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics from MFT Stamps, so there would be a white border of the card base showing.

I am inserting a picture of the Copic markers I used, since there is just too many to list.

Here are the two finished cards.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown- Space Explorer
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Blueprints 20
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Distress Inks: Picked Raspberry,  Mustard Seed,  Blueprint SketchWilted Violet,  Chipped Sapphire,  Black Soot  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers: See Photo Above
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Sakura - White Gel Pen,  Tattered Angels - Marshmallow Glimmer Mist,  White Acrylic Paint and Foam Tape

Thank you so much for taking the time  to drop by and I hope you like my cards.  Have a wonderful day! Kathy
