Happy Haunting

Hello friends, I hope you're having a good day so far.

I had some fun today making a Halloween card using the Booyah stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  It's so fun that you can put the ghosts in different costumes.  I did some stamping and masking to make a Vampire, Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.  I don't have the matching dies so I cut them ghosts out using my ScanNCut.  I kind of like how the ghosts are cut out in one piece.

I again used a panel of smooth card stock and added distress inks to back the background for the ghosts.  It's hard to see in the picture but once I sprayed the panel with water and blotted up some colour with paper towel, I added some drips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Booyah
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 20
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot
Copic Markers: Frankenstein - W00, W3, R20, G20, G21, BV02, BV13, BV31  Vampire - W00, W3, W5, W7, R20, R24, R39  Bride of Frankenstein - W00, W3, R20, V12, V15, V17, YG23, YG25

Love You Forever - MFTWSC294

Hello friends and welcome to a new week.  I can't believe how quickly the summer and in fact the whole year is going.

Today I made a card for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

For my card I combined the new Frightful Friends and Grave Situation stamp sets from MFT Stamps as well as the older Witch Way Is The Candy? set.

I used distress inks on smooth card stock to make the background and grass. I think it's hard to tell on the finished background but I actually started by covering the whole panel with Picked Raspberry distress ink and then went over that with Dusty Concord and Black Soot distress inks. Once I was happy with the colour I used the distress sprayer to spray it with water, left it for about 30 seconds and then blotted it with paper towel. I also cut a small panel of smooth card stock with the Grassy Fields dies, inked it up with Peeled Paint and a little bit of Black Soot distress inks and sprayed that with water as well.

I stamped the fence directly onto the background piece with Versafine - Onyx Black Ink.  I actually looked up pictures of "The Bride of Frankstein" before I coloured her and decided to add some blood to her bandages. Her skin was just a little too boring so I added a slight tinge of green to make it stand out a bit more.

I really happy with how the finished card turned out, especially the background.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Frightful Friends,  Grave Situation,  Birdie Brown - Witch Way Is The Candy?
Dies: MFT Stamps - 13, 20 and Grassy Fields
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks,  Peeled Paint, Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord and Black Soot
Copic Markers: Bride of Frankenstein -  E000, E00, G40, E40, E41, R29, C5, C7, C9  Tombstone - C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9  Pumpkins - YR15, YR18, E08, G24, G99
Other: Recollections - Card Stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100 lb Ultra Smooth Premium White Card Stock,  Foam Tape

You're Smokin'

Hello friends and Happy Friday! I hope you are having good weather where you are and that you will get to enjoy it this weekend.

Today I made a card using the Let's BBQ stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I have had this set for quite awhile but I think this is the first time I am using it. I am entering the card in this week's Lawnscaping Challenge of using a punny sentiment on a card.

I made a simple card that I thought would be great to give to a man as a love you or a Valentine's Day card.

I first stamped out the steak on a circle piece of card stock, masked it off and then stamped the BBQ.  I coloured the images with Copic markers and tried to give the look of hot coals under the steak.   Once the images were coloured I stamped the "smoke" and then the sentiment which I bent to match the curve of the circle.

I stamped the utensils on grey card stock with Memento - London Fog ink to give a nice tone on tone background.  I used the two largest dies from the MFT Stamps - Blueprints 20 die-namics to cut out the red and grey card stock.

I like the simple design of the card and how it turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Let's BBQ
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stitched Circle Stax and Blueprints 20,  Spellbinders - Standard Circles Small
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Memento - London Fog,  Verafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers: Steak - EE55, E57, E59  BBQ - C1, C3, C7, R08, YR18, R24, R29, R39
Other: Recollections - Card Stock

Dragon Slayer

Hello friends, I had so much fun yesterday using the Magical Dragons stamp set from MFT Staps, I had to make another card using the same set.

The card I made today was inspired by the following card made by Keeway Tsao.

I didn't have the same dies so I used the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics for the main panel and one of the Mix and Match Banners' dies to make a window in the brick background/wall.

Here is a picture of my finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Magical Dragons
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Mix and Match Banners,  Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders (Template for Inked Clouds)
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licence Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn
Copic Markers:  Dragon - R00, R02, R21, BG10, BG11, BG13  Princess - E00, E11, R20, R81, V01, V12, E15, E18, Y23, Y35  Knight - E00, E11, C00, C1, C3, C5, Y35, Y38, R37, R39, E15, E18
Other: Recollections - Card Stock,  Foam Tape,  MFT Stamps - Small Brick Wall Stencil

Magical Life

Hello friends, I hope you're having a good day so far.

I finally broke out the super adorable, MFT Stamps - Magical Dragons stamp set and made a card.  The dragons in this stamp set are some of the most adorable I have ever seen.

I combined several soft Distress Ink colours to make a lovely soft background for my mommy and baby dragon sitting in the clouds.

I sprinkled some extra tiny star confetti across the clouds to make the card even more "Magicial".

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Magical Dragons

Hello friends, yeah it's Friday and gorgeous outside today.

I needed to make a wedding card and so I decided to use the Wplus9 - Freehand Florals stamp set.

I wanted to make muted pink flowers and so I decided to use Jennifer McGuire's technique of extending my ink colours by using white pigment ink. Here is her video showing the technique: Stamp Layering With One Color Ink.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Wplus9 - Freestyle Florals and Fresh Cut Florals (Sentiment)

Baked With Love

Good morning my friends, I hope you are having a good day.

The other day Nichol Spohr made a great card for Lawn Fawn using several of their stamp sets and lots of imagination.

I was so inspired by her card, picture below, I thought I would give it a try.

I copied her cabinet design and used a 5 1/2" x 1 1/4" strip and three 1" squares of white card stock that I stamped with an All Night Media woodgrain background stamp I had in my stash with Gathered Twigs distress ink. I then used a distress tool and the Gathered Twigs ink to cover the cabinets and doors to give it a look of wood. I stamped the handles of the doors by using the "cheeks" stamp from the Lawn Fawn - Rooting For You stamp set and Versafine - Onyx Black ink.

For the "Tile" wall I used the MFT Stamps - Small Brick Wall stencil and Liquitex - Light Modeling Paste in white on white card stock. The wall then has some great texture without being too distracting.

I also copied Nichol's recipe for the countertop and cut a 1/4 " piece of white card stock that I coloured with a C9 Copic marker and then lightly tapped it with a Colorless Blender marker to try and give it some texture.

I stamped several images from the Lawn Fawn - Baked With Love and Milk and Cookies stamp sets, coloured them with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. After fussy cutting each piece I went around the white edge of the image with a Memento - Tuxedo Black Dual Marker.

I did not have an oven stamp so I drew my own, which measures 1 1/2" x 1 1/4", I used a bubble stamp from the Lawn Fawn - Mermaid For You to stamp the round oven knobs. I then coloured the oven with Copics and cut it out.  I also needed something to add a sentiment to the front of the card and decided a picture frame on the wall would be cute.  I first stamped the sentiment and then I drew the frame around the sentiment, coloured it and cut it out.

Once I assembled all of the coloured pieces I added Glossy Accents to the knobs on cupboards and oven as well as the oven glass.

This card was a lot of work but I'm so happy with how mine turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Baked With Love,  Milk and Cookies, Mermaid For You and Rooting For You   All Night Media - Woodgrain Background
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Baked With Love (Heart)
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs
Copic Markers: Colorless Blender, B000, C00, C1, C3, C5, C9, R24, R29, R39, Y13, YR21, YR23, E25, E27, E29, E31, E34, E35, E40, E41, E42, E51, E53, E55, E57, 0.3 Multiliner
Other: Recollections - Card Stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100 lb Ultra Smooth Premium White Card Stock,  MFT Stamps - Small Brick Wall Stencil,  Liquitex - Light Modeling Paste,  Foam Tape

Vampire Graveyard

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good day so far.

I had fun making a Halloween card using a couple of new stamp sets from MFT Stamps.

The first thing I did was die cut a panel using the Simon Says Stamp Sticthed Rectangles dies. I then did lots of stamping and masking of images.  When everything was covered in masks, I used distress inks to ink up the background. I then used a distress sprayer to add some water and then dabbed it off with some paper towels.

Once the background was done, I peeled off all of the masks and coloured the images with Copic markers. The last thing I did to the coloured panel was stamp on the bats and the name to the gravestone.  I can't wait to play some more and make additional Halloweens card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Frightful Friends and Grave Situation
Dies: Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Distress Ink - Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord and Black Soot,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Give Thanks

Hello my friends, I can't believe the year is going so fast.

Today I made a Thanksgiving Day card combining several Lawn Fawn stamp sets. The little pilgrim mice are so cute.

I first cut out some water-colour paper using an oval Spellbinder die and inked it up using several different Distress Inks. and then stamped the oval with some cornstalks.  I stamped and Copic coloured several different images from the Happy Harvest and Thankful Mice stamp sets.

I also used a couple of Hero Arts shadow inks and the Argyle Backdrops stamp set to make my own design paper which I cut using the largest die from the MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13.

I decided to cut out a banner using one of the Ribbon Banners  dies from Spellbinders and while the card stock was still in the die, I inked it with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to give the banner more detail.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Thankful Mice stamp set on the banner.

I combined all the layers and popped up the mice with foam tape to add some dimension.

I am quite happy with the final result.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Happy Harvest, Thankful Mice, Argyle Backdrops
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13,  Spellbinders - Classic Ovals Small and Large, Ribbon Banners,  Lawn Fawn - Thankful Mice,  ScanNCut for all other stamped images

Happy Haunting

Hello friends! I know it's only the beginning of August but I felt like breaking out some fall and Halloween stamp sets. I have a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets that I have never used so I thought I would combine them to make a card.

I used the Lawn Fawn - Booyah stamp set as well as the mini Stinkin Cute stamp set. I tried some mirror stamping of the little skunk, the stamped impression wasn't the best so I went over it with a black marker. It didn't turn out perfect but not too bad.

I also did a little bit of masking. I stamped the hats first, covered them with masks and then stamped the skunks so the hats appear to be on their heads.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Booyah and Stinkin Cute
Dies: Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Ink: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers: C00, C1, C5, C7, C9, R20, R24, R39, V12, V15, V17, G82, G99, YR24
