Indie Chic "Citron"

I have just recently discovered Kristie Marcotte of The Best Things In Life Are Pink (her blog)  and YouTube.

She takes one 6x6 paper pad and using sketches, creates as many cards as she can until she is only left with a few scraps.  Since I have so many 6x6 paper pad, I thought this sounded like such a great idea, so I gave it a try.

For my first try I used the My Mind's Eye - Indie Chic "Citron" paper pad, Recollections card stock from Michaels, some dies from MFT Stamps and sentiments from lots of different stamp sets I already had in my stash.  The paper pad had been used slightly before I started this project and I really didn't plan ahead.  I looked for a sketch I liked and then created a few cards and then went and searched for another sketch for the next few cards. I managed to make a total of 33 cards over two days.

The remaining six cards I made with the design paper scraps and did not use a sketch.

I hope you like what I have done and give it a try.  Also check out Kristie's videos, they're awesome.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

Fall

Hello my friends and welcome back.  I haven't been doing any crafting for the past week and a half because we have been redoing and organizing my craft room.  I hope to be back with some pictures of the transformation.

The first crafty thing I have done in the revamped space, was to alter the Standing Wood Fall word that I bought from Hobby Lobby for 40% off.  Each letter is approximately 7 inches high and 5 inches wide.  I love how the "A" in fall was real, aced with a leaf.

The first thing I did is go through my 12 x 12 design paper and decide which paper I would use for which letter.

I painted the three letters with some Vanilla acrylic paint and the leaf with Metallic Bronze acrylic paint.  I then added glue to the front of each letter and paid it down onto the design paper.  Once the glue had dried, I used a Fiskars fingertip craft knife to cut around the letters.  I then had to touch up the paint.  I decided that the leaf was going to be too hard to cut around so I just painted it with three coats of paint.  To finish off the three letters, I sponged on some Vintage Photo Distress Ink, to the edges of the design paper.

Here is the finished word, which I will be putting on my mantle, once I start decorating for fall.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Standing Wood Fall - Brother Sister Design Studio from Hobby Lobby
Acrylic Paint - Craft smart- Vanilla and Metallic Bronze from Michaels
Design Paper: American Crafts - Night Fall 12 x 12 paper pad
Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

You're A Treasure - MFTWSC344

Hello and welcome back my friends. This time I have a card to share with you that I created for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

For the card I created, I used the Birdie Brown-Party Like A Pirate stamp set from MFT Stamps and made a little scene.  I created the sand and sky with distress inks and the Mini Cloud Edges stencil and used a couple of different edge dies from MFT Stamps to create the decorative edge to the scene panel.

It was hard to get a good photo of the card, since our air quality has been so poor due to lots of forest fires in our Province.  Thankfully nothing really close to us.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Party Like A Pirate
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stitched Basic Edges and Stitched Scallop Basic Edges
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs
Copic Markers: Skin - E00, E11, BV00, R20  Red - R24, R29, R39  Blue - B93, B97, B99  Black - C5, C7, C9  Chest - Y00, Y35, YR24, E31, E35, E37
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock and 65lb Red card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  MFT Stamps - Mini Cloud Edges stencil,  Sakura - Black Glaze Pen,  Craft Medley - Dazzling Metallics sequins,  Twine from my stash and Foam Tape

Thank you for dropping by and have a great night! Kathy

Lemonade

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a great start to your weekend.

I saw the "Juicy" prompt at CASolgy and broke out an older stamp set to make a card for the challenge.

I decided to use the lemonade2drink stamp set from The Stamps of Life to create my card.  I stamped the images and sentiment with Jet Black Archival Ink on Tim Holtz, Distress Watercolor card stock.  I used just a few Crayola washable markers and a water brush to colour the images and I'm very happy with how they worked.

I cut the watercolor panel with the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics and backed it with some yellow card stock.  I added a couple of water droplets to the glass with Morning Dew - Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I then popped up the finished panel with foam tape onto the card front to finish it off.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps:  The Stamps of Life - lemonade2drink
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13
Inks:  Ranger - Jet Black Archival Ink
Crayola Markers:  Pastel Blue, Yellow, Lemon Yellow and Mango
Other: Ranger - Tim Holtz-Distress Watercolor card stock,  Recollections - 65lb Yellow card stock,  Nuvo - Morning Dew Crystal Drops,  Foam Tape

Thank you for taking the time to drop by.  I hope you have a lovely day! Kathy
