You Are Mermazing - MFTWSC378

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I am sharing two cards that I created using the Mermazing stamp set from MFT Stamps and my first alcohol ink on Yupo paper background. I must say even after watching YouTube videos of people using alcohol ink, I did find it harder then it looked but I guess with everything there is a learning curve.

I used the current sketch from MFT Card Challenges as inspiration for my card layouts.

I wanted to keep the background fairly simple and so only used two colours of alcohol ink, Bottle and Stream.  Once it was dry I did actually end up going back and using some blending solution and a hairdryer to get a better result.  The Yupo paper came in a 5" x 7" pad, so I cut the one finished piece into two 3" x 4 1/2" pieces , using a stitched rectangle die.

I thought the background would make a perfect water background, which is why I decided to use a couple of Mermaids to highlight that fact.  The mermaids were coloured using Copic markers and I added some clear sparkling pen to their tails as the finishing touch.

Here are a couple of picture of my cards.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Mermazing
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 & 27,  Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Inks- Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Memento - Teal Zeal
Copic Markers - Skin - E11, E33, V15, R20  Purple - V12, V15, V17  Teal - BG10, BG11, BG13, BG57  Coral - R02, R05, R08  Lime Green - YG0000, YG00, YG23, G14
Other: Recollections 110lb White card stock,  Legion - 74lb White 5 x 7 Yupo paper pad,  Ranger Alcohol Ink - Bottle and Stream,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock and Sparkling Clear Brush Pen,  Foam Tape

I definitely want to play some more with the alcohol inks and hope you will also give it a try.

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend, Kathy

Beam Up Some Fun

Hello my friend and welcome to a new week.  I know it's Easter this weekend and I really should be making Easter cards but instead I thought I would break out the new Beam Me Up stamp set from Lawn Fawn and create a birthday card.

I created my galaxy background using Distress Oxide inks.  I definitely want to make another card with the regular Distress Inks to create a brighter background next time.

Besides the cute images in this stamp set I really like the sentiments in this set as well.  For my card I used a combination of sentiments to create a birthday card which could be used for a boy or girl. I find it a little harder to great for boys/men so I appreciate how versatile this stamp set can be.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Beam Me Up
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13,  Simon Says Stamp - A2 Card Curved Edge
Ink - Simon Says stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Oxide - Wilted Violet, Fossilized Amber, Broken China, Black Soot, Vintage Photo
Copic Markers: Spaceship and beams - C00, C1, C3, YR12, YR15, YR18, Y15, Y35  B000, Y000, Y00, Y02  Aliens - YG21, YG03, YG25, B23, B24, G26, BG10, BG11, YR12, YR15, YR18, Y15
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Tattered Angels - Marshmallow Glimmer Mist,  Sakura - Black Glaze pen, White Gel pen and Stardust Gelly Roll pen, Foam Tape

Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you have a wonderful day, Kathy

Your Kindness Is Inspiring

Hello my friends and welcome to the weekend.  I can't believe Saturday is almost over already, it has been such a busy day of grocery shopping, laundry and steam cleaning the carpets.  Now it's time to relax.

Today I am sharing another card I made using the  two stamp sets that came in the March Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.  Although the kit is sold out, you can still purchase the stamp sets individually.

I stamped the boots with flowers image onto some 110lb white card stock with Archival Ink and watercolored it with Distress Inks.  On the card front, I used a small gingham stamp from one of the stamp sets to create a background.  I added a sentiment to the white card stock panel with Versafine Ink and attached it flat to the card front.  For the finishing touch a added a few clear sequins and called the card done.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp - Flowers & Showers and Choose Joy
Inks: Archival Ink - Jet Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Hero Arts -  Field Greens,  Distress Ink - Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Pretty Pink Posh - 4mm & 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I should be back very soon with another card.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

Thanks

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I am sharing a card that I created using the Flowers & Showers stamp set that came in the Simon Says Stamp March 2018 card kit.

I started by stamping the cute little chick onto 110lb white card stock, with Jet Black Archival ink.  I then coloured the images by watercoloring with Distress Inks.  Since I didn't use too much water, the card stock worked well, even if it was not made for watercolouring.

I added a sentiment with Onyx Black Versafine ink and cut the card panel into a 4 1/4" by 2 3/4" piece which I popped up on the card front using foam tape.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp - Showers & Flowers
Dies: Mama Elephant - Peek A Frame
Inks: Archival Ink - Jet Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Gathered Twigs, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Crate Paper - Pretty Party 6x6 paper pad,  Foam Tape

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

You Are My Anchor

Hello my friends, I am here today to share a new card that I created by combining  a newer stamp set called The Crew Garden Club from Wplus9 with some older products from Lawn Fawn, MFT Stamps and Anthentique.

The cute little girl is from the garden club stamp set which is a Spring/Summer garden themed set but by adding stripes to her top and colouring her in red, white and blue I think I successfully turned her into the perfect addition to a nautical themed card.

The sentiment and anchor are from the Float My Boat stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn, the design paper is from a 2013 Authentique paper pad and the remaining dies are from MFT Stamps.

I think she is super cute and I'm happy with how my card turned out.

below is a list of the supplies I used.

Your Friendship

Welcome my friends, I am back to share a card that I created using The Crew Garden Club stamp set from Wplus9.

I used Copic markers to colour a couple of girls from the stamp set, which I popped up on the card front using foam tape.

I did a bit of masking on the card front and stamped the wagon with some pots inside.  While the wagon and pots were masked off, I used a couple of stencils from MFT Stamps and a couple of shades of Distress Oxide inks to create the grass and clouds.  I then peeled off the masks and coloured the images, again with Copic markers.

The peachy/coral card stock frame was cut using the Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle Stax from MFT Stamps and I think finishes off the little scene nicely.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Wplus9 - The Crew Garden Club
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangles Stax

It's Your Birthday

Hello my friends, I am back to share another card I created using the Monster Sized stamp set from MFT Stamps.  I have seen so many great cards I wanted to have some fun myself.  I had lots of fun making this card even though it's not my favourite.

I cut of panel of white card stock with the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics set and then used Triple Peek-a-Boo Window die to cut out windows in the panel.  Right on the card front I added three different shades of Distress Oxide inks, so that they would show through the windows.  The panel with the windows was popped up with foam tape and then the three Monsters were added with a mixture of foam tape and liquid adhesive.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Monster Sized
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Triple Peek-a-Boo Window
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Oxide, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber

Although it's really nice out, there are still chores to be done, so in between loads of laundry, I created a card using the Monster Sized stamp set from MFT Stamps.

I coloured the three monsters with Copic markers and created the inking background using Wilted Violet Distress Oxide.  The inking background was popped up with foam tape and then the monsters were popped up with foam tape as well.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Cheers To Coffee

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I am sharing a card I created using a couple of The Crew School Days girls from Wplus9 to create an coffee themed card, not a school themed card.

I decided that I wanted to create a coffee shop background and here are the steps I took to create it.

The first thing I did was took the card panel and drew a line across the bottom in pencil to create the sidewalk.  I also pencilled in some doors to the shop with the help of a t-square ruler, then using green painter's tape, I taped off the sidewalk and doors.

In order to create the brick exterior of the building, I covered the whole wall with some Antique Linen distress ink, then went over it again with Vintage Photo distress ink and a Small Brick Wall stencil.

Then I peeled off the painter's tape and placed so that only the "sidewalk" was visible and went over that with a mixture of Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke distress inks.  Once that sidewalk was done, I peeled off the painter's tape and coloured the glass doors with B000 and B00 Copic markers.  I also drew a couple of door handles and coloured those with cool grey markers.  I used a ruler and Pure Black - Zig Millennium markers to outline the doors and handles.

For my chalkboard sign, I coloured it with Copic markers and then stamped on the saying using Versamark and embossed it with White Detail embossing powder.

I glued the flowers and pots flat to the background and popped up the two girls and the sign with foam tape and I'm pretty happy with how the final card turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Wplus9 - The Crew School Days and The Crew Garden Club
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Distress Inks - Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke,  Versamark

Lots of Love - MFTWSC374

Welcome back to a new week and the beginning of March.  Today I am here to share another card I created for the sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

Here is a reminder of what the sketch looks like.

For this card, I used another Pure Innocence stamp set from MFT Stamps.  this I used the Blowing Kisses set. I didn't like my original card so I actually was able to take it apart and remake a simpler version of my card and I was also able to salvage the cute girl.

I coloured her with Copic markers and paper pieced the skirt of her dress only, adding some shadows with cool grey markers to have the skirt incorporate with the rest of the colouring.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence-Blowing Kisses
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 20
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Happy Spring

Today I am so excited to share this cute card I created using the adorable Easter Party stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn.

I really wanted to create each girl/flower with different skin tones and different coloured flowers.  I was trying to some up with my own sentiment but in the end, I decided to create a sentiment using the stamp set.

I was lucky enough to have a dirt/garden die that came in the March 2017 My Monthly Hero kit from  Hero Arts.  I extend the die to cut a piece of white card stock that would cover the bottom of the card panel.  The die cut was coloured using Gathered Twigs and Walnut Stain, then sprayed with a bit of water and blotted with a paper towel to add a bit more texture.

The clouds were created using the Mini Cloud Edges stencil from MFT Stamps and some Broken China Distress Oxide ink.  I popped up each flower on the background and then popped up the whole panel with foam tape onto the card front.

Here are a few pictures of the finished card.  I just love how it turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Easter Party
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13,  Hero Arts - "Ground Die" March 2017 My Monthly Hero kit

 Have a wonderful day!  Kathy
