You're The Sweetest

I can't believe it's the end of the year already.  I hope you had a good year and that the upcoming year is wonderful too!

Today I have a card to share with you that I created using the super cute Sweet Friends stamp set and dies from Lawn Fawn.  I just had to get the dies for this set so that I could cut out the arms and legs that you can add to all of the sweets in this set.

For the background panel, I cut a piece of white card stock with the largest die from the Blueprints 27 dies from MFT Stamps, and taped off the scalloped edge of the panel.  I then used the Argyle Backdrops stamp set from Lawn Fawn and a couple of inks from Hero Arts.

For the background for the cute cups of soft serve, I cut another piece of white card stock with the Say Cheese die from Lawn Fawn and then I inked up the insert with Broken China Distress Ink and Mini Cloud Edges stencil from MFT Stamps.

I'm so happy with how my card turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Sweet Friends and Argyle Backdrops
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Sweet Friends and Say Cheese,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 27
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Salty Ocean,  Hero Arts - Bubble Gum and Red Royal shadow inks
Copic Markers: R24, R27, R39, B24, B26, B28, C00, C1, E44, E47, E49
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock, Foam Tape, Ranger - Glossy Accents

Magical Day - Pop Up Card

Hello my friends, I do hope you had a wonderful Christmas, is you celebrate, or at least some time with family.

Today I have my first pop up card to share with you.  I don't have the Lawn Fawn pop up die so I created my own pop up card using card stock, my paper cutter and the Martha Stewart scoreboard.

Here are the measurements for the basic card form and inserts.

For the main box cut 2 pieces of card stock into 4 1/4" by 6"  pieces and score at 2" on the 4 1/4" side

Turn the cardstock a quarter turn and then score at 2" and 5 1/2" on the 6" side

I then cut the 2" by 1/4" tab off and cut the 2 1/4" by 1/4" tab at an angle upward from the edge of the paper to the score line.  (If you look at the Lawn Fawn pop up die, I cut the tab the same way.) On each portion of the 1/4 tab that is remaining I place a piece of 1/4" double sided tape.

For the inserts, (you can add as many as you wish) I added three inserts to my card, cut pieces of card stock into 1" by 4" pieces and score both ends at a 1/4" on the 4" side.  I also used score tape of the 1/4" tabs to attach them to the inside of the card.  See Lawn Fawn's - Intro to Scalloped Box Card Pop Up for instructions on how to out the box together.

Before I attached my box together I ran the 4 1/4" by 6" pieces of yardstick through my die machine using one of the Lawn Fawn - Valentine Borders dies to add a decorative edge to the top of the box.

Here are a few picture of my finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Dies: Lawn Fawn - Fairy Friends, Gleeful Gardens, Bugs and Kisses and Valentine Borders,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 27 and Grassy Fields

I'm here today to share a Valentine's Day card that I created using products from MFT Stamps.  This card was majorly inspired by a card that Nicol Spohr created using products from Honey Bee Stamps.

Ice Skating Kitty

I can't believe we are half way to Christmas already.  It always feels like December go so fast!

Today I have another card to share with you that I created using the You Make My Heart Melt stamp set from MFT Stamps.  Apparently I have been quite obsessed with all the great products MFT has been coming out with and every month I wish I could afford it all.

I didn't add a sentiment to this card, so it can be used for a number of occasions.  For the "ice", I stamped it out on a separate piece of paper, coloured it with Copics and then fussy cut it out.  I then covered it with Clear Sparkle Brush Pen from Spectrum Noir and then covered that with some Thick Lacquer that was in the October 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit.  Once it was aired I glued it to the snowy ground and then popped up the kitty with form tape.

I hope you like my finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - You Make My Heart Melt
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13, Rolling Hills and Cloud 9
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black

Ski-sons Greetings x Four

Hello my friends and welcome.  I can't believe we are getting so close to Christmas.  I finally mailed out some cards this morning but I still not finished having fun making more cards.

I recently bought the Ski-sons Greetings stamp set from MFT Stamps, so I coloured up the main images twice and managed to make four cards.  I combined the stamp set with several dies from MFT Stamps and a couple from Lawn Fawn as well. I actually managed to made four winter themed cards that are not for Christmas.

I love how adorable these bears are and how the cards turned out.

Color Throwdown Challenge #472 - The Nice List

Welcome and Happy Wednesday!

I am so happy to be the Guest Star Stamper for this week's  Color Throwdown. This week's challenge was to create a card using Black, Red and Grey.

I must admit this was a little bit of a challenge because I still wanted to make a Christmas card but the colours are not what I would normally choose to do that. (I had thought of making a Valentine card but thought that might be a bit early).

I hope you like the card I came up with.

I used the adorable girl from the Pure Innocence - Nice List stamp set from MFT Stamps, which I coloured with Copics in the featured colours.  I decided to try something different for me and coloured her hair black in order to not introduce any more colours to my card (other then her skin).

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence - Nice List
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13Blueprints 27 and Fishtail Flag Stax,  Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers:  Skin - E11, E33, V15, R21  Dress - R24, R27, R39  Shoes & Hair - C5, C7, C9    List - C00, C1
Other: Recollections - 110lb White and Black card stock,  MFT Stamps - 100lb Wild Cherry card stock,  American Crafts - Deck The Halls 6x6 paper pad, Foam Tape

I hope you give this challenge a try.  I can't wait to see with you come up with.

Thank you so much for dropping by and have a wonderful day! Kathy

Friends Make Holidays Even Happier

Hello my friends and welcome back. After what seems like having rain forever, we finally have a nice clear, if cold, day, so we put up a few Christmas lights outside.  I put up the Christmas tree and inside decorations on Monday.

I'm sure if you're a fan of MFT Stamps you know that they had a great Black Friday sale, which of course, I could not pass up.  One of the things I bought was the Fireplace die-namics that was released a long, long time ago but I finally decided to get and I'm so happy I did.

I used the fireplace die along with the new Pure Innocence girl from the Filled With Joy stamp set to create a cute little scene.  For the fireplace I used several different layers of foam tape to add lots of dimension to the card and I'm so happy with how it turned out.

For the fireplace I cut the main image from 100lb white card stock. I also cut a rectangle of white card stock that would cover the back of the fireplace opening.  That rectangle I inked up using the Small Brick Wall stencil and Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I then attached it to the back of the fireplace with some foam tape so that it was not flush with the front of the fireplace.  I also used some Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Fired Brick and Ground Expresso Distress Inks to colour up some white card stock, and used the card stock to cut out the log and flames for inside the fireplace.

The little girl was coloured with Copic markers and then I fussy cut her out with a small white border and I attached her to the card front using a couple of layers of foam tape in spots, so that she would lie flat in front of the fireplace.

I hope you like my final card and let me know if you have any questions.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence - Filled With Joy
Dies: MFT Stamps - FireplaceFab Foliage and Blueprints 27
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Black Intense,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Frayed Burlap, Ground Espresso, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin and Fired Brick

Design Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Miss Caroline-Fiddlesticks and Mistletoe Magic 6x6 paper pad
Other: Recollections 110lb White card stock and 65lb Red, Black and Green card stock and Adhesive Red Rhinestones, MFT Stamps - Small Brick Wall, Foam Tape

To The Core - MFTWSC360 & CTD#470

Welcome my friends, although I currently have a cold and don't feel very ambitious, hence no Christmas decorating yet, I did want to complete this card.

I combined the Sketch Challenge from MFT Card Challenges with the Color Challenge from Color Throwdown.  I quite like how the finished card turned out.

I really loved the colour combination and thought the cute Pure Innocence - Love You To The Core stamp set from MFT Stamps would be a perfect match. I popped her off the background using foam tape.

I created the apple tree using a portion of the Leafy Backdrop Landscape die from Lawn Fawn.  Although when an apple tree has apples the leaves should be green I used creative license so it would go with the colour scheme.

Here are a couple of pictures of my card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence-Love You To The Core
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 & 20, Stitched Basic Edges and Slanted Sentiment Strips, Lawn Fawn - Leafy Backdrop Landscape

Santa's Sleigh

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I have a card to share that I created using a bunch of products from Lawn Fawn, including the Toboggan Together stamp set and matching dies.

This was the first time I used the Forest Border die and well as the Little Town Border.  I first cut them both out of white card stock and then for the trees, I used some distress oxide inks to colour them.  For the cute little house, I used the border die to cut out several different colours of card stock and then cut off the individual houses and glued them to the front of the white border. I used yellow card stock behind the houses to create "lights" for the houses.

For the sky I cut out a piece of blue card stock and then used unicorn ink from Hero Arts and the Snowfall stencil from MFT Stamps to create snow in the sky.  I wasn't totally happy with how that turned out so I then also sprayed the sky with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. (It doesn't really show in the picture but it real life it has a lovely shimmer.)

Here is a picture of my finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Toboggan Together
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Toboggan Together, Stitched Hillside Borders, Forest Border and Little Town Border,  Hero Arts - Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies

Happy Holidays

Welcome to the first full week of November.  Today I have a card to share with you that I created with a couple of different stamp set from Hero Arts.

I can't believe that I only just bought the Colour Layering Christmas Trees stamp set and this card is the first time I ever used it.  I loved that you can create trees in the woods or an actual decorated Christmas tree.

I stamped the three with three different shades of green and then for the final layer I used white pigment ink.  I was trying to add the look of snow.  I think it would work better if I stamped the final layer with veramark and then used whit embossing powder instead.  I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Color Layering Christmas Tree and the October 2017 My Monthly Hero kit
Dies: Hero Arts - October 2017 My Monthly Hero Coordinating Frame Cuts,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13

Nice List - MFTWSC357

Can you believe it's November already?  It's crazy sometimes how the year can go so fast and how the weather can also change so fast.  On Halloween night it was so lovely and actually quite mild and by Thursday night, we had our first snow.  Crazy!

Now that I have grumbled about the weather, I can share with you a new card.  This card was created for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

I used the brand new Pure Innocence - Nice List stamp set from MFT Stamps as the main image for this card.  I think I may have gone a little overboard with the details but I still love how the little girl turned out.

Elf

Hello friends and welcome back.  Today I have another card to share with you, that I created using the Nice Elves stamp set from Hero Arts.

When I saw these particular elves, I thought it would be so cute to colour them like the characters from the Elf movie.  They all also inspired me to combine them with the sentiment, which I believes comes from that movie, from the Alpine Carolers stamp set from Mama Elephant.  Even though the elves aren't actually singing, I still thought the card turned out quite cute.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Nice Elves,  Mama Elephant - Alpine Carolers
Dies: Hero Arts - Nice Elves,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 & 20
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass
Copic Markers: Skin - E11, E33, R21, Hair - E21, E25, E27  Clothes - R24, R27, R39, YG03, G09, Y13, Y17, C5, C9
