Wish Upon A Star

Hello and welcome back my friends.  Can you tell I have been having fun with the new Upon A Star stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn?

Today I have another card using these new products.

This time I used a piece of water-colour paper, which I cut using the largest die from the MFT Stamps Blueprints 13 set.  I then inked up the water-colour panel with several different shades of Distress Ink, although it's hard to tell that I used so many different colours, on the finished panel.  Once I inked up the panel, I sprayed it with some water and blotted it with a paper towel, to add some stars to the sky.

I cut a piece of black card stock, using the same Blueprints 13 die and then used a die from the Stitched Basic Edges die set from MFT Stamps, to make a hillside for the foxes.  I used Versamark ink  and some Detail Snow Embossing Powder to create the sentiment.  I glued the hillside to the water-colour panel and then attached that to an A2 card base.

I popped up the two foxes, that I Copic coloured, with foam tape and then glued the shooting star in the sky.  The last touch was to add a bit of Crystal Clear Sparkle pen to the star to add some shimmer.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star,  MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Stitched Basic Edges
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versamark,  Distress Inks - Mermaid Lagoon,  Blueprint Sketch,  Dusty Concord and Black Soot

I'm back again with one more card using the Upon A Star stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn.

This time I used the Confetti stencil from Heidi Swapp and Metallic Silver embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi/Studio 490 to created the sky.

I used three bunnies and a sprinkling of stars from the stamp set on this card and popped up the whole panel on the card front for a bit of dimension.

Dies: Lawn Fawn - Upon A Star

This time I made a starry sky using Light Modeling Paste through the Stars & Dots stencil from Simon Says Stamp.

Written In The Stars

Hello my friends and welcome back.  If you are in the United States, Happy Memorial Day, I hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

I am back today to share my first card using the new Upon A Star stamp set and matching dies from Lawn Fawn.  It's such an adorable set, I just love all the different constellations.

I borrowed from Lawn Fawn's introduction video and used some distress ink on the edges of the blue and brown card stock to add some darkness and dimension. I am also really happy with how the Unicorn pigment ink from Hero Arts shows up on the blue card stock.

I popped up the hillside and animals using foam tape to add even more dimension to the final card.

You're Beary Fun

Hello my friends and welcome back.  It's an absolutely gorgeous day out again and I haven't been doing to much crafting but I did get a chance to make one card, using the new You're Claw-some stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

After I stamped and coloured the images, I fussy cut them and ran a Tuxedo Black Memento pen around the edges to hide any cutting imperfections.

I wasn't quite sure what kind of layout I was going to do and in the end decided to keep it simple and cut some different coloured card stock with the Stitched Rectangles dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I popped up the claw machine on foam tape and only glued down the top of the claw to give the card some extra dimension.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: You're Claw-some
Dies: Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers: Bears - E31, E34  Blue - B21, B24, B26  Grey - C00, C1, C3, C5  Glass - Colorless Blender, BG10

Pop Up Thanks

Hello my friends and welcome back.  It seems like it's been awhile since I have done any card making.  I even have some new supplies but not much time to play.

Today I have two cards to show you that I made using the Colour Layering Poppy stamp set from Hero Arts and the Many Thanks die-nmaics from MFT Stamps.

I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire recently shared on her blog,  3 Ways: Alphabet & Word Dies and on her YouTube channel, Jennifer McGuire YouTube.

I used my Hampton Art - Stamp Perfect tool to stamp the poppies on two different pieces of card stock, one white and one pink.  I then used one of the Thanks dies from MFT Stamps to cut through the stamped panels and kept everything including the insides of the letters.  I used the same Thanks die to cut three more words from each the pink and white card stock.

I glued all of the pink Thanks together and all of the white Thanks together and inlaid them into the opposite color card stock panels that I had attached to card bases.   I finished up the cards by adding a sprinkling of 4mm Sparkling Clea Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  I am so happy with how these two cards turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Color Layering Poppy
Dies: MFT Stamps - Many Thanks
Inks: Hero Arts - Bubble Gum,  Pale Tomato,  Red Royal,  Cup O'Joe,  Lime Green
Other: Recollections - 110lb White and Pink card stock,  Pretty Pink Posh - 4mm Sparkling Clear Sequins

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope to be back soon with some more creations.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

You Are My Sunshine - MFTWSC333

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today is Friday and the beginning of a long weekend here.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have some good weather too.

Today I made a card for the current sketch challenge at MFT Card Challenges.

I took a 5 1/2 " x 4 1/4" piece of heavyweight card stock and cut it into four pieces using the Beach Scene Builder die-namics from MFT Stamps and the Wave die from Sandals die set from The Stamps of Life.  I inked up each section with a different colour of distress ink and inlaid them back together to create the front panel for the card.

I coloured up the cute girl and sandcastle from the Beach Day stamp set from MFT Stamps.  I created the sun using a couple of dies from the Blueprints 13 die-namics.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Mermaid Trio

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I have three cards made using the Mermazing stamp set from MFT Stamps.

I tired something different and used some fun colours for the mermaid's hair. I am so in love with these three.

For all three of my cards, I used the technique that Donna Mikasa showed on her blog, 3 Umbrellas.  Instead of using the Post It tape that she used, I used 1 1/2" Painter's tape that I carefully ripped in half to mask off the edges of the card stock panels.

Here is the first card, where the tape was ripped and placed very unevenly.  I think I perfected the technique on the second and third card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Mermazing
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Salty Ocean, Peacock FeathersMermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn

Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  Foam Tape,  Nuvo - Morning Dew Crystal Drops,  1 1/2 inch Green Painter's Tape

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I hope you like my cards.  Have a wonderful day! Kathy

Have A Bright & Sunny Day

Hello and welcome back.  I am sharing my last card, for now, using the Beach Bunnies stamp set and the Beach Scene Builder die-namics from MFT Stamps.

The sand and sea were cut from some heavyweight white card stock, which I then inked up with some distress inks, sprayed with water and blotted up the excess to create the texture.  I used masks created from card stock with the Puffy Cloud Borders dies and Tumbled Glass distress ink for the clouds in the sky. The sun was created using the  Radiating Rays stencil from MFT Stamps and Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.

The bunnies and birds were coloured with Copic markers.  This time I made light tan bunnies instead of the grey in the previous two cards.  I think these bunnies are just so adorable and for some reason when I see the little boy bunny I picture him playing soccer.

I hope you like my finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Beach Bunnies
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beach Scene Builder
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Gathered Twigs, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade and Mowed Lawn

I have been having so much fun using my new products from MFT Stamps.  For my first card I used the Beach Bunnies stamp set.  I also borrowed the little sandcastle from their Beach Day stamp set.

I created the sand and sky on the card base by using a couple of different distress inks.  All os the images were coloured with Copic markers and cut out using the Scan N Cut machine.

I just love the little beach huts, they are just so cute.

You Brighten My Life

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today I have a card to share that I made using the Pure Innocence Beach Day stamp set and Beach Scene Builder dies from MFT Stamps.

I stamped out the three images in the set, which include the girl, the sandcastle and the flag cut them out using my ScanNCut and coloured them with Copic markers.

For the background, I cut a piece of heavy weight white card stock with the largest die from the Beach Scene Builder die set.  I inked up the larger of the two pieces it cuts, with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap distress ink and the smaller piece with Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress ink. I then sprayed droplets of water onto both pieces and blotted them with some paper towels to add some texture.

For the palm tree, I inked up a scrap of white card stock with Frayed Burlap distress ink and cut out the trunk and coconuts.  I cut the tree top and the three separate leaves out of some lime green card stock and inked the edges with some Mowed Lawn distress ink.  I slightly curved the three individual leaves with my fingers and attached just the base of the leaves to add some more dimension to the palm tree.

I used masks made from card stock and the Puffy Cloud Borders dies from Lawn Fawn and some Broken China Oxide Ink to ink up the clouds in the sky.  I glued everything to the card front and finished the card with a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence-Beach Day
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beach Scene Builder
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black, Distress Inks - Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn,  Distress Oxide - Broken China

Ocean Full of Thanks

Hello my friends and happy Saturday! I hope you are having a good weekend so far.

The other day I received my latest order from Hero Arts which included the May 2017 My Monthly Hero kit and the Reef Border and Frame Fancy Dies.

Here is a close up of everything in the monthly kit.

For my card I used one of the techniques that Jennifer McGuire showed in this YouTube video Magic Stencil Techniques.  This was the first time I used a couple of the Distress Oxide inks and the Waves Stencil from Hero Arts for my ocean background.

Here are a couple of pictures of my finished card.

I used the Reef Border die to cut the design into a white card stock panel and layered that over my ocean background.  I then stamped the greeting from the above stamp set with the Aqua ink included in the kit.  I coloured up one of the mermaids and one of the fish from the kit, with Copic markers, that I stamped and die cut, and added some Sakura - Stardust Gelly Roll pen to add some glitter to the images.  I glued the fish flat to the ocean and popped the mermaid up on foam tape and added a little fallback pearl to her hand.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - May 2017 My Monthly Hero
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Distress Oxide Inks - Broken China and Cracked Pistachio,  Hero Arts - Aqua
Copic Markers:  Skin - E000, E00, BV00, R20  Hair - E21, E27, E279 Aqua - BG11, BG13, BG57  Purple - V12, V15, V17

Oceans of Love

Helo and welcome back my friends.  I have made another card using the absolutely adorable Mermazing stamp set from MFT Stamps.

This time I tried to make an ombre background using four different blue shades of distress inks and the Cascading Scallop stencil from MFT Stamps.

For the mermaid I added to this card I coloured her hair in an orangey red colour, which is quite different for me.  I usually keep to much more natural hair colours but I thought she would look like Ariel if I coloured her hair this way.

I did actually fuss a little bit more with her hair after the above picture was taken.

I added a couple of fish from the stamp set, a sentiment and finished off the card with some water drops made from Nuvo - Morning Dew Crystal Drops.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Mermazing
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black, Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch
Copic Markers: Skin - E11, E33, V15, R20  Hair - R02, R05, R08, R24, R29  Tail - BG10, BG11, BG13, BG57, BG75  Top & Star - V12, V15, V17  Fish - YR15, YR18, W1, W5
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  MFT Stamps - Cascading Scallop Stencil,  Nuvo - Morning Dew Crystal Drops, Foam Tape

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by.  I hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy

You Are Mermazing

Hello my friends and welcome back.

Today I made my first beach card using the new Mermazing stamp set and Beach Scene Builder die-namics from MFT Stamps.

I used the biggest die from the Beach Scene Builder die-namic to cut some heavy weight white card stock.  I inked up the sand, with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs distress ink with a few dots of E25 Copic marker for detail.  The sea was inked up with Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers distress inks.  I inked up the cloudy sky using Tumbled Glass distress ink and masks made from card stock cut with Puffy Cloud Borders dies from Lawn Fawn.

The sweet little mermaid was coloured with Copic Markers.

Below is a list of the supplies.

Stamp: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Mermazing
Dies: MFT Stamps - Beach Scene Builder,  Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,   Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Inks - Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass

Koala Windows

Hello my friends and welcome back. I have one more card today using the Cuddly Koalas stamp set from MFT Stamps.

This time I cut a panel of heavy weight card stock using the largest die in the Blueprints 13 die-namics.  I then used the Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Window die, still attached together, to cut windows in the upper portion of the panel.  I laid the panel on the front of an A2 card base and traced the inside of the three windows, so I would know where to stamp the tree branches and where to Copic colour.

I then stamped the sentiment and a few bear paws onto the lower portion of the panel and then popped the panel onto the card base using foam tape.  I then added the two Koalas, so that it looks like they could be holding the branches, and the card was done.

The finished card is clean and simple but still very cute.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Cuddly Koalas
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 and Stitched Triple Peek-a-Boo Window
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers:  Koalas - W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, R00, R20  Paw Prints - W5, W7  Branches - E23, E27, YG03, G14  Window Background - BG10, BG11
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 110lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  Sakura - White Gel Pen,  Foam Tape

Thank you again for dropping by.  I hope to post a card soon using some supplies from my latest order from MFT Stamps.

Have a wonderful day! Kathy

Thanks, Mate

Hello my friends and welcome back to my blog.

Today I have another card to share using the Cuddly Koalas stamp set and Blueprints 27 die-namics from MFT Stamps.

This time instead of colouring the inside of the windows with Copic markers, I used Salty Ocean Distress Ink that I sponged on and then sprayed with some water and blotted with paper towel to add some additional texture.

I again popped up the window frame with foam tape and added a few stamped and coloured images from the Cuddly Koalas set.  The finishing touch on this card was to add some 3mm and 4mm Clear Sparkling Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Cuddly Koalas
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 27
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Salty Ocean

I think the finished card turned out so cute.

The Best Hugs - MFTWSC331

Hello, and welcome back to another week of crafty goodness.  Today I broke out the Cuddly Koalas stamp set from MFT Stamps and made several different cards.

For this first card, I used the current sketch from the MFT Card Challenges as the layout inspiration.

For the circle element, I used the Stitched circle Stax die-namics to cut a circle from white card and stamped part of the tree from the Koala stamp set, which I coloured with Copic markers.  I then used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and sponged on some clouds.

I also cut a piece of white card stock with the largest die from the Blueprints 13 die-namic and used Twisted Citron Distress Ink through the Star Grid stencil to make a background pattern.  The blue banner was made using a piece of dark blue card stock and the smallest die from the Puffy Cloud Border dies from Lawn Fawn.

Here is the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Cuddly Koalas
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stitched Circle Stax and Blueprints 13,  Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron
Copic Markers: Koalas - W1, W3, W5, W7, W9, R00, R20,  Tree - E23, E27, YG03, G14
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock and 65lb Blue card stock, Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  Sakura - White Gel Pen

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope to be back soon with another one of my cards.

I Hope you have a wonderful day! Kathy
