You're A Llama Fun - MFTWSC317

Hello my friends, I can't believe it's almost the end go January already.  Yeah!  It's nice to see that it's starting to get just a little bit lighter each night.

Today I made a card using the current sketch from MFT Card Challenges and the Llama Love stamp set from MFT Stamps.

The first thing I did was cut a panel of 110lb card stock with the largest die from the Blueprints 13 die-namics.  I then used second from the smallest die from the Simon Says Stamp Rectangles to cut three rectangles front the front panel.  I then entered the panel over the A2 size card front and traced the inside of the rectangles with a pencil so I would know where to stamp and colour.

With some masking I stamped all of the cactus from the Llama stamp set in the traced rectangles and coloured them with Copic markers.  I then glued the cut out panel to the card front so the cactus scenes showed.  I coloured up a couple of Llamas, cut them out with my ScanNCut and popped them up on foam tape to the card front and then added a small sentiment to finished off the card.

I'm actually so in love with how the final card came out.  Here are a couple of pictures.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Llama Love
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13,  Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink  Versafine - Onyx Black
Copic Markers:  Llamas - E41, E42, E43, E44  Cactus - B00, YG00, YG03, G16, G24, G82, G99  Ground & Sky - E31, E34, E37, B000, B00
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth Premium White card stock,  Foam Tape

Rose Bouquets

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good weekend.  In a crazy world, which it definitely seems to be right now, doing some crafting can be a good distraction.

Playing with craft supplies always makes me feel just that bit better and today is no exception.

I made another couple of cards using the January 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts.  I stamped the more solid version of the Rose Bouquet stamp using the Pink to Red Ombre ink pad and then stamped the outline version of the same stamp with Intense Black Ink from Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped the wrapping paper stamp onto some design paper and coloured the bow using some Copic markers.  I then used the matching dies to cut out the stamped images.

While looking through my background stamp, I discovered the True Friends cling stamp from Hero Arts. I had totally forgotten that I had it but when I saw it I thought it would make the perfect background for the bouquets.  I stamped the background using Soft Charcoal ink also from Hero Arts.

Here are a few pictures of the finished cards.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Hero Arts - Color Layering Flower Heart and True Friends
Dies: Hero Arts - Color Layering Flower Heart
Inks: Hero Arts - Pink to Red Ombre and Soft Charcoal ,  Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black
Design Paper: American Crafts - XOXO 6x6 paper pad
Copic Markers: R24, R29, R39, R81, R83, R85

In Love With You

Yeah, it's Saturday my friends!   For me Saturday usually means crafting in between loads of laundry and today is no exception.

I made a simple Valentine/Love card using the Otterly Love You stamp from MFT Stamps again.  The otters in this stamp set are so adorable and a really good size.

For this card I cut a piece of 110lb white card stock with one of the Stitched Circle Stax die-namics from MFT Stamps and inked it up with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  I then sprayed it with water, using the Distress Sprayer, and blotted it with a paper towel to give the background more texture.

The Otter was stamped, coloured with Copic markers and cut out using my Brother - ScanNCut.  The rocks were stamped, coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut out.

I mounted the finished circle with foam tape in the middle and slightly to the top of the A2 card front and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine - Onyx Black ink.  I little heart under the sentiment is a prismatic heart sticker that I bought last year from the dollar store .

For the last finishing touch to the card, I put a few drops of Nuvo - Morning Dew-Crystal Drops to look like bubbles in the water.  This is the first time I have used these drops and really love how they turned out.  I think they would make perfect dew drops on flowers and leaves.

Here's a close up so you can see the Nuvo drops better.

Below is a list of the supplies I sued.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Otterly Love You
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stitched Circle Stax
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Distress Ink - Salty Ocean
Copic Markers: Otter - W00, W1, W3, W5, R20, R24, R29, R39  Rocks - C00, C1, C3
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth White Premium card stock,  Nuvo - Morning Dew-Crystal Drops,  Foam Tape,  Dollarama - Heart Crystal Stickers

Thanks again for dropping by and I hope you have a great day! Kathy

Otterly Great Birthday

Hello my friends and Happy Friday!  Today I made another card using the super cute, Birdie Brown - Otterly Love You stamp set from MFT Stamps.

The first thing I did was cut a panel of heavyweight white card stock using the largest die from The Blueprints 13 die-namic.  I then used the Lawn Fawn - Stitched Hillside Border dies to make masks for the sky and sea.

The sea is Salty Ocean Distress Ink that I inked on the card stock, sprayed with some water and then blotted to give some texture.  The sky was made with masks made from card stock cut with the Puffy Cloud Borders dies from Lawn Fawn and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I left a strip between the sea and sky which I inked using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

The otters I had previously coloured with Copic Markers and cut out using my Brother - ScanNCut.  The rocks I stamped out today, coloured them with Copic markers and fussy cut out to make a border between the sea and sky.

I love how the finished card turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown-Otterly Love You
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13,  Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders and Stitched Hillside Borders used to make masks

Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock,  Spectrum Noir - 100lb Ultra Smooth White Premium card stock,  Foam Tape

Life Is Like A Cup of Tea

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good day.

A few days ago I received my order from Simon Says Stamp of their February 2017 Card Kit, which included the Coffee and Tea stamp set.  I used that stamp set to make my card.

I stamped a panel of card stock with the Tea Bag stamp using Memento - Toffee Crunch ink, this way it would be more subtle them black, but I could still use Copic markers to colour the images.

I also stamped the cup with the Toffee Crunch ink, coloured it with Copics and fussy cut it out.  The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped using Hero Arts - Tide Pool shadow ink, which I think went perfectly with the colouring and card stock.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used to make this card.

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp - Coffee and Tea
Dies: Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Rectangles,  MFT Stamps - Fishtail Banner Stax
Inks: Memento Ink - Toffee Crunch,  Hero Arts - Tide Pool shadow ink
Copic Markers:  E41, E42, E43, BG10, BG11, BG53, BG57

Thinking Of You

Hello my friends and hopeful, welcome back.  I hope you are having a good day so far.

Today I made a card that was inspired by a card that Amy of sharingnewlove recently posted on her Instagram account.  She used the Stepped Up Chevron die-namic from MFT Stamps to make a carpet for her living room scene and I thought it was so clever I would give it a try.

I selected three different colours of card stock from the Preppy Beach stack by Recollections and cut out the colours four times each.  I glued the chevron cut paper to a 4" x 1 3/4" piece of white card stock to make the carpet and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  The carpet was a bit time consuming to make but I think it was worth it.

The puppies are from the Playful Pups stamp set, the girl in the chair and the lamp are from the Our Story stamp set and the sentiment is from the Make Yourself At Home stamp set, all from MFT Stamps.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Playful Pups,  Birdie Brown-Our Story and Lisa Johnson Designs-Make Yourself At Home
Dies: MFT Stamps - Stepped Up Chevron
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Otterly Lost

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good day.  I made a couple of card today using a couple of different stamp sets from MFT Stamps.

For my first card, I used the adorable Birdie Brown - Otterly Love You stamp set.  The little otters in the stamp set are so cute!

For the background, I cut a piece of Strathmore 140lb Watercolor paper and stamped the waves using Versamark Ink and then heat embossed them with Detail White embossing powder.

I then painted the sea and sky using several colours of Distress Inks.  I used an ex-acto knife and cut around some of the curves of the bottom wave so I could tuck in the Otter mommy and baby into the waves. Once I added all of the stamped images and die cuts to the watercolor panel, I popped it up using lots of foam tape.

Here is the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - MFT Stamps - Otterly Love You

A Thankful Heart

Hello my friends and welcome to a new week.

Today I made a card using the new Abstract Heart die-namic from MFT Stamps, which I cut and then dipped into three different distress inks.

It's a very delicate die cut so after it dried, I taped the back so the pieces would not come out when I attached it to my card.

The two sizes of heart stamps that I used for the background came from the Lawn Fawn - Science Of Love stamp set.  The inks I used for the hearts came from the January 2017 My Monthly Hero kit as did the sentiment, which I stamped using Versafine - Onyx Black.

I hope you like the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn - Science of Love,  Hero Arts - Color Layering Flower Heart
Dies: MFT Stamps - Abstract Heart & Blueprints 20
Inks: Distress Inks - Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple   Hero Arts - Soft Pink and Bubble Gum Shadow Ink  Versafine - Onyx Black
Other: Recollections - 110lb White card stock, 65lb Pink card stock and Halloween Boo-Clothespins, Foam Tape

Love

Hello my friends, I hope you are having a good weekend so far.

The card I made today was totally inspired by a card Debbie Hughes posted on her blog on January 19, 2017.

I happy with how my card turned out but I must say I like her original card better.

The background was made using Light Modeling Paste and the Confetti stencil from Heidi Swapp.  I used the Scripty Love die from Lawn fawn to cut out the word love twice.  Once of out white card stock and once out of black card stock, which I then layered on top of each other slightly offset to add more interest.

I then used several heart dies to cut out different sizes of hearts from design paper and card stock and popped then on foam tape for added dimension.

Here is the finished card:

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Dies: Lawn Fawn - Scripty Love and Hearts,  Sizzix - Hearts Framelits,  MFT Stamps - Fishtail Flag Stax
Design Paper: Fancy Pants - Love Note 6x6 paper pad
Other:  Recollections - 110lb White & Black card stock and 65lb Dark Red card stock,  Heidi Swapp - Confetti Stencil,  Liquidtex - Light Modeling Paste,  Foam Tape

Love Bouquets

Good morning my friends, I hope you are having a good week.

Yesterday, I received my order from Hero Arts of the January 2017 Monthly Hero kit.  I also ordered my first ombre ink pad, pink to red, that I thought went perfect with this month's stamp set.

Here is a picture of everything that came in the kit.

I made two love cards using the kit but I love that the stamp set is so versatile and cane be used for so many different occasions just by changing the colours and sentiment.

For my two cards I stamped the bouquet wrapping stamp on patterned paper and then copic collared the bow.  The flowers were stamped with the inks that came in the kit and the leaves with inks I already had in my collection.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello my friends, I hope your having a great day!

Today I broke out my Ladybug Tilda rubber stamp from Magnolia stamps which I had had for several years.  Most cards made with Magnolia cards are very elaborate with lost of die cuts and flowers, which I totally love but I wanted to make a more simplified A2 size card, so I kept the embellishments to a minimum.  I still happy with how the card turned out.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: Magnolia - Ladybug Tilda,  Lawn Fawn - Love Letters

You Arrr Treasured

Hello again my friends, I hope you had a good day today.

I had an idea in mind for another card using the Ahoy Matey stamp set from MFT Stamps and so I managed to find the time to make the card.

I pretty much coloured the boy pirate the same as my previous card and this time I made a little banner using the Fishtail Banner Die-namics from MFT Stamps and a Typewriter Key Font stamp set from Recollections.

Although the card definitely has a nautical theme with the striped background paper is also reminds me of the American flag.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Claire Keay-Ahoy Matey  Recollections - Typewriter Key Font
Dies: MFT Stamps - Blueprints 13 & 20 and Fishtail Banner
Inks: Simon Says Stamp - Intense Black,  Memento Ink - Paris Dusk,  Versafine - Onyx Black

Ahoy, Matey

Hello my friends and welcome to a brand new week.

I was looking through my stamp sets and found one from way back in 2011 that I had never used.  I think it was about the time I was just getting into ordering from MFT Stamps but nothing like I do now.

I used the Ahoy Matey stamp set that was designed by Claire Keay and Anchored 6x6 paper pad from Authentique to make this card.  I already have another idea, so I very well be making another card with these two items.

I am super happy with how my colouring turned out on this image.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Love Makes The World Go 'Round

Hello my friends, I can't believe it has actually warmed up and is pouring rain.  It's ugly out but I'm hoping it will at least get rid of the snow remaining on the roads.

Today I made a simple card combining several Pure Innocence stamp sets from MFT Stamps.  The main girl image is from the Hula Hoop stamp set, the dog is from the Woof You stamp set and the sentiment is from the retired Pure Innocence and The Pinwheel.

The sky was made using a mask created by using the Puffy Cloud Border dies from Lawn Fawn and the grass was made using the Grassy Fields dies from MFT Stamps.  I added a few heart sequins that I have had from way back when I originally started making cards and used to use crayola markers to colour in images.

Here is a close up of just the girl after I coloured her.

Here is the finished card.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence-HulaHoop, Woof You and P.I. and the Pinwheel

Life Ia A Picnic

Hello my friends, I hope your having a good weekend so far.

Yesterday, with snow on the ground and me dreaming of the sun, I decided to stamp and colour this cutie, from the retired Birdie Brown - Every Day Is A Picnic stamp set from MFT Stamps.

Today, in between loads of laundry and vacuuming, I was able to make a card using this girl.  I made the picnic blanket by using the Gingham Background stamp and the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges dies.

The background was made using distress inks and masks made from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders for the ground and Puffy Cloud Borders for the sky.

Below is a list of the supplies I used.

Stamps: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown - Every Day Is A Picnic,  Gingham Background
Dies: MFT Stamps - Birdie Brown - Every Day Is A Picnic and Stitched Scallop Basic Edges,  Lawn Fawn - Stitched Hillside Borders and Puffy Cloud Borders
Inks: MFT Stamps - Black Licorice Hybrid Ink,  Versafine - Onyx Black,  Hero Arts - Red Royal, Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and Mowed Grass
